Hi chaps..
On a similar note here is a link to the Reading "chapter" of the crossfit franchise
http://www.crossfitreading.co.uk/index.htm
Nearest one looks to be Bristol, so Kev we need to keep these out of The Black Country and establish it as a "Raisons Rambo's" town..
The crossfit concept is quite good though, there is a worldwide presence of like minded individuals who seem to enjoy pain in public places and sharing their experiences. Unlike most sites of this nature it isnt in German, or is that just me..?..!
I was reading about CrossFit last night and it looks like they have got themselves into a bit of a legal pickle because a guy ended up with rhabdomyoloysis (complete muscle breakdown causing fucked up kidneys because of blood poisoning) following their intense training programmes:

I think they came out clean from the law suit and were found not to be liable, however it does make you question the intense workouts. From what I read however they responded by showing kids doing the workout that the guy claimed that damaged him, without any ill affects.
Interesting eh?
Crossfit have caused quite a bit of controversy with their training styles. Charles Poliquin wrote an article about their lack of programme design skills.
Without sounding like an arse licker, I have to agree with Charles. There's no real structural balance within the training systems and unlike our training which does take about 2-3 hours to design.
I'm sure they are great trainers, it just concerns me that they put so many core exercises prior to barbell snatches and cleans.
